Countdown to Vacay 3. . 2. .

It has finally arrived! Our family vacation begins with packing, driving, sight seeing and more with the final destination: Disney World!Earlier this year, I was telling my daughters, ages 8 and 4 about the Fancy Nancy Tea Party at the public library when my 8 year old says, "Mom! I'm too old for that!" My heart sank and I told my husband that we needed to plan a trip to Disney and quickly. Our children grow up so fast. We need to capture the moments and make memories, sometimes we need to even…See More

A Tribute to My Father

In the spirit of Father’s Day, I want to write a special tribute to my father. Often tributes are made to our parents once they have passed away, but I want to honor my dad today as a reminder to our community on how important our fathers play in our lives. Although 43% of children in our country live without their father, the statistics are clear that fathers play a large role in their children, our future. There is no better time than on Father’s Day to show the love to our dads.My dad lives…See More

Standing on the corner of Plymouth's main street, Michigan Street at Garro Street, gazing southward in 1910, what would be the sights and sounds that surround you? Was there a passion to discuss these issues on the streets or around the family dinner tables? In thinking about economic development, what made this specific corner in…See More

Downtown Diamond

There is something spectacular about a flashing marquee of a small town movie theatre. The energy that pulsates into the beat of small town downtowns gives life to the community at large. And there is a mystique and intrigue that builds within each car turning onto our old town Main Streets that excites people of all ages when they learn what film is actually playing on the big screen this weekend.Yes, the small town movie marquee is treasured in each of our childhood memory banks. But, will…See More
